FULL TEXT OF THE SOUTH LAKE TAHOE MEASURE N VACANCY TAX MEASURE
Although the petitions did include the full text of the measure, it was printed in very tiny 6-point lettering and was not on the signature pages. Most people would need a magnifying glass to be able to read it, and none were provided at the signature collecting venues.

Scott Robbins’ real plans:

Scott Robbins wanted to be a new Bernie Sanders and lead a socialist revolution.

And what they really want to topple, is Democracy.
IT BEGAN WITH THE “BIG LIE” *

“Not one dollar of the money collected is earmarked for affordable housing.” Erick Asbury – South Lake Tahoe community Patriots
What the court had to say about Scott’s claims:

Thank you, Bob Pope, for this submission

Scott Robbins promised “No new taxes on locals”. Now advocating $6,000.00 per year tax increase.

“The Measure N Vacancy would apply to every owner of a residential unit in the city”. That would include working local residents and there is NO exemption for properties that are rented.
Our response:

Scott overlooked something:

RENTERS ARE NOT EXEMPT FROM MEASURE N VACANCY TAX
“This measure would require every owner of a residential unit in the City to submit an annual declaration of occupancy. The City would be required to establish a process to annually audit residential units to confirm occupancy. Making a false declaration would result in a penalty of at least 100 percent of the tax owed in addition to other penalties and interest.” (Ballot Title: AN INITIATIVE MEASURE TO ESTABLISH A TAX ON OWNERS OF VACANT RESIDENTIAL UNITS IN THE CITY OF SOUTH LAKE TAHOE.)
The tax applies to every residence (with a few specific exceptions). This creates a problem for landlords and property managers – how do they prove the residence was “physically occupied” for 183 days per year?
There is a very simple solution to the Vacancy Tax issue for landlords and property managers, simply raise the rent to cover the cost of the additional taxes. Actually, they will be forced to, because they will never be able to prove the property was occupied 183 days per year. This is the form you will need to use:

Scott lying to intimidate voters who are legally qualified to vote in South Lake Tahoe at their residences.

The article in the SFGATE is FALSE and Scott Robbins, Nick Speal and Amelia Richmond are the ones spreading the misinformation.

Scott Robbins, Nick Speal and Amelia Richmond spend a lot of time “cooking the books” to mislead the public with false information.

Scott’s phony story:

Sierra Riker is Scott Robbins new poster child for the Measure N Vacancy Tax. The Tribune published a Guest Editorial 7-18-24 (Wildfire prevention personnel need the vacancy tax (Opinion) | TahoeDailyTribune.com) and Scott used her in many ads and Instagram posts.
Riker received a college education and then freely choose a job that pays less-than minimum wage, or she only works half of the year according to the income she claims. (Project coordinators in California are paid $53,251 per year or $25.60 per hour) – Sounds like another slacker who wants to work 5 hours a year and get paid the same as full time workers, then has the audacity to demand other taxpayers subsidize her wages.
First thing Riker should do is find a decent paying job. If it is worth it to her to work at one that doesn’t pay a living wage, that is on her, not other people whether they own one home or ten.
Riker is spoiled like so many others her age. She expects to automatically get a 3/2 on the lake, it has NEVER worked that way (unless you are a genius computer programmer, or something like that – which she apparently is not.) So get over it and pay your dues just like everyone else and quit whining.
Scott Robbins complaining about rent, when he receives over $100,000. 00 a year as a part time consultant for surveillance companies.

I suspect Scott’s landlord would like to get rid of him, he constantly complains about the house.
Scott advocates socialism:

When things go wrong – “It’s a conspiracy”

Scott “They are ganging up on me”

True, the No on N campaign did raise a lot of money, Scott Robbins upset over two-million people across the entire nation, who contributed fifty-three cents each to defeat his exploitive tax measure.
